Coating Removal

De-coating uses a chemical wash process to attack metal coatings, clear coatings or paint coatings on a polymer’s surface. Removal of these outside layers allow the polymer to be compounded at a higher percentage rate and into many more applications.

Optical Sorting

PRS now offers state of the art Full Color Optical Sorting. We remove nearly every color from nearly any color. We can also sort by transparency; if you have a clear pellet or grind mixed with opaque, our machine can handle the separation.

Screening

This process removes long strands, clumps, powder, dirt and many other problem contaminates from reclaimable pellets or grind.

Float-Sink

Float-sink separation is the dividing of two commingled polymers or materials of different specific gravities. Here is a routine example - a silo of polycarbonate is accidentally contaminated when a tanker load of polypropylene is blown into that silo. These two materials have different densities, or specific gravity. PRS will use a liquid solution of a density that is between the two commingled materials, causing one to sink and the other to float. These two polymers can now be effectively separated and dried. This process will separate almost any two materials of different densities; ground metal, rocks, paper, plastics, etc.

Washing

Pellet & Grind Washing includes several types of material cleaning. Materials contaminated with dirt, chaff, rocks, or other foreign material will need to be washed to get rid of the impurities. The material is then dried and packaged for shipment.
